PWM power driver for TEC modules
The Texas Instruments DRV592VFP is a PWM power driver IC for thermoelectric cooler modules. It accepts a supply voltage from 2.8 V to 5.5 V.
Supply range and quiescent current
The 2.8 V to 5.5 V supply range covers both standard digital rails and battery-backed systems. The 500 µA quiescent supply current is low enough for always-on TEC controllers where the driver idles between temperature corrections — a meaningful advantage in power-budgeted designs like portable optical test gear or remote sensor nodes.
Temperature grade and environment
Rated for -40°C to 85°C operating temperature, the DRV592VFP suits outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor instrumentation, and automotive test equipment where the ambient can swing beyond commercial limits. The 32-HLQFP (7x7 mm) exposed-pad package helps pull heat from the output stage into the PCB ground plane, keeping junction temperatures within bounds under continuous TEC drive.
