Single-axis linear Hall sensor for position and current sensing
The Texas Instruments DRV5056Z4QDBZR is a single-axis ratiometric linear Hall-effect sensor that outputs an analog voltage proportional to the applied magnetic flux density. It is designed for contactless position sensing, current sensing, and proximity detection in industrial and automotive environments. The sensor operates over a -40°C to 125°C temperature range and is available in a surface-mount SOT-23-3 package. Key features include a 158 mT sensing range, 20 kHz bandwidth, temperature compensation, and ratiometric output. The ratiometric output means the output voltage scales with the supply voltage, making it immune to supply variations in systems where the ADC reference is also ratiometric.
Supply voltage and output drive
The DRV5056Z4QDBZR accepts two supply ranges: 3 V to 3.6 V and 4.5 V to 5.5 V. Maximum supply current is 10 mA, and the analog output can source or sink up to 1 mA.
Package and mounting
Housed in a TO-236-3 / SC-59 / SOT-23-3 package, the device is a three-pin surface-mount part. The SOT-23-3 footprint is widely used and easy to lay out — the output pin provides the analog voltage, while the other two pins are supply and ground.
