Analog Hall sensor for 125°C automotive environments
The DRV5053VAQDBZR is a single-axis linear Hall-effect sensor from TI's automotive-qualified DRV5053 family. It outputs an analog voltage proportional to the perpendicular magnetic field, with a ±9 mT sensing range and 20 kHz bandwidth that tracks fast-moving ferrous targets in motor commutation or gear-tooth sensing. The 2.5 V to 38 V supply range lets it run directly off an unregulated 12 V or 24 V automotive rail — no extra LDO needed.
Bandwidth and output drive for ECU interfaces
At 20 kHz bandwidth, the DRV5053VAQDBZR settles fast enough for brushless-DC rotor-position feedback up to several thousand RPM. The analog output swings rail-to-rail and can source up to 2.3 mA — enough to drive the ADC input of a typical automotive MCU without a buffer. Supply current max is 3.6 mA, keeping the thermal contribution in the SOT-23-3 package negligible even at 125°C ambient.
Active production, AEC-Q100 traceability
TI lists the DRV5053VAQDBZR as an active product with no planned end-of-life notice. AEC-Q100 qualification means the part has passed the full Grade-1 stress suite: 125°C operating life, HBM/CDM ESD, and temperature cycling. RoHS3 compliant; no exemption claims needed for the bill of materials.
