SOT-23-3 footprint and board integration
The DRV5053RAQDBZT ships in a SOT-23-3 package (TO-236-3 / SC-59), a three-lead surface-mount footprint that fits standard 2.9 mm × 1.6 mm land patterns. The single output pin routes directly to an ADC input; the supply and ground pins take the 2.7 V to 38 V rail and return. No external heatsinking is required at the 3.6 mA max supply draw, but a 0.1 µF bypass cap within 5 mm of the VCC pin keeps the internal bias stable across the 20 kHz bandwidth.
Linear Hall effect with analog voltage output
This is a single-axis linear Hall-effect sensor — it outputs an analog voltage proportional to the magnetic flux density perpendicular to the package face. The sensing range is ±18 mT, which covers common permanent-magnet field strengths in position and proximity sensing. The output is ratiometric to the supply voltage, so a 3.3 V ADC reference tracks the sensor's own supply rail without a separate voltage reference. The 20 kHz bandwidth means the sensor can track fast-moving targets — a gear tooth or a rotating magnet passing at several thousand RPM — without the output lagging behind the mechanical event.
Supply flexibility and temperature grade
The 2.3 mA max output current drives a typical ADC input without a buffer. The -40°C to +125°C operating temperature covers automotive under-hood and industrial enclosure environments — no grade restriction beyond the standard industrial range.
