Automotive-grade magnetic sensing for 125 °C environments
The DRV5053RAQDBZRQ1 is a single-axis linear Hall-effect sensor from Texas Instruments, qualified to AEC-Q100 for automotive use. Its ±18 mT sensing range covers common magnetic flux densities for position and current sensing in 12 V and 24 V vehicle systems. The -40 °C to 125 °C operating temperature span matches under-hood and transmission-oil environments. Temperature compensation holds the analog output accuracy across the full range — the offset drift does not force a recalibration step at the ECU.
20 kHz bandwidth and supply tolerance
A 20 kHz bandwidth lets the sensor capture mechanical events up to gear-tooth and valve-spool frequencies. The analog voltage output feeds directly into an ECU ADC without an external filter for most sub-2 kHz applications. The 2.7 V to 38 V supply range means this part runs on an unregulated 12 V battery bus without a pre-regulator, and survives load-dump transients within the 38 V ceiling. Maximum supply current is 3.6 mA, and the output can source up to 2.3 mA into the ADC input.
Housed in a SOT-23-3 (TO-236-3 / SC-59) surface-mount package, the DRV5053RAQDBZRQ1 occupies the same footprint as many generic analog Hall sensors. The three-pin layout — supply, ground, output — keeps the PCB routing simple: one decoupling cap near the supply pin is sufficient for most layouts.
