Single-axis Hall sensor for position and current sensing
The Texas Instruments DRV5053RAELPGMQ1 is a single-axis Hall-effect sensor that outputs an analog voltage proportional to the magnetic flux density perpendicular to the package face. Rated for ±18 mT sensing range, it suits linear position, rotary angle, and current-sense applications where a moderate field is present.
20 kHz bandwidth and wide supply range
With a 20 kHz bandwidth, the sensor captures fast-changing magnetic fields — adequate for PWM-driven solenoid current monitoring or high-speed rotor position in brushless DC motors without aliasing the control loop. The analog output swings ratiometrically with the supply, so the ADC reference can share the same rail for a radiometric measurement.
Through-hole TO-92-3 for prototyping and retrofit
Housed in a TO-92-3 short-body through-hole package (TO-226-3 variant), the sensor mounts directly on a PCB or can be wired with flying leads for remote placement near the target magnet. The three pins are supply, ground, and analog output. The through-hole form factor simplifies hand-assembly and rework — no reflow profile needed, and the package can be socketed for evaluation.
