Automotive-grade single-axis Hall sensor
The DRV5053RAEDBZRQ1 is a single-axis linear Hall-effect sensor from Texas Instruments, qualified to AEC-Q100 for automotive applications. It outputs an analog voltage proportional to the applied magnetic flux density, with a sensing range of ±18 mT. Rated for operation from -40°C to 150°C ambient, this sensor suits under-hood and engine-bay environments where the junction temperature can spike above 125°C without derating the output accuracy.
Supply range and bandwidth
Maximum supply current is 3.6 mA. A 20 kHz bandwidth means the sensor can track fast-changing fields — suitable for position feedback in brushless DC motors or current-sense applications where the PWM frequency sits below 10 kHz.
Package and integration
Supplied in a SOT-23-3 (TO-236) surface-mount package, the DRV5053RAEDBZRQ1 fits standard pick-and-place assembly. The three-pin layout (VDD, GND, VOUT) simplifies PCB routing — no external compensation components are required. Temperature compensation is built in, reducing the output drift over the -40°C to 150°C range compared to uncompensated Hall sensors. This matters when the sensor is mounted near a hot motor winding or exhaust path.
