Automotive-grade linear Hall sensor for position and current sensing
The DRV5053PAELPGMQ1 is a single-axis linear Hall-effect sensor from Texas Instruments, qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 0 for automotive applications. It outputs an analog voltage proportional to the magnetic flux density, with a ±35 mT sensing range and 20 kHz bandwidth — fast enough to capture rotor position in a brushless DC motor or detect AC current ripple in a solenoid driver.
Wide supply and temperature envelope for under-hood and industrial use
Temperature compensation is built in, so the sensitivity and offset remain stable across the full operating range — critical for a throttle-position or pedal-travel sensor where the magnetic gap changes with thermal expansion.
Through-hole TO-92-3 package for retrofit and prototyping
The TO-92-3 short-body through-hole package (TO-226-3) is a standard three-lead footprint. It mates with breadboards, terminal blocks, or PCB sockets — no special reflow profile needed. The 2.3 mA max output current drives an ADC input directly, and the 3.6 mA max supply current keeps the thermal load low even in a sealed enclosure.
