Single-axis linear Hall sensor in a three-pin SOT-23-3
The DRV5053OAEDBZTQ1 is a single-axis linear Hall-effect sensor from Texas Instruments, part of the DRV5053 family. It outputs an analog voltage proportional to the magnetic flux density perpendicular to the package face — the SOT-23-3 (TO-236-3, SC-59) footprint means the sensitive axis is normal to the PCB plane, so the magnet must be positioned above or below the board, not beside it.
Sensing range, bandwidth, and supply flexibility
The sensing range of ±73 mT defines the linear region — fields within this window produce a proportional output voltage; fields beyond it saturate the output at the supply rail. The 20 kHz bandwidth captures fast-changing fields from rotating shafts with high pole counts, such as a 12-tooth gear at 100,000 RPM. The sensor draws a maximum of 3.6 mA supply current and can source or sink up to 2.3 mA on the analog output — enough to drive a typical 10 kΩ ADC input directly.
