What the ±18mT range and 20 kHz bandwidth mean for the BOM line
The DRV5053EAQLPGMQ1 is a single-axis linear Hall effect sensor producing an analog voltage output proportional to the magnetic flux density perpendicular to the package face. Its ±18 mT sensing range covers the linear region of most neodymium and ferrite magnets used in current-sense or position-feedback applications — the output swings from roughly 10% to 90% of the supply rail across that span, leaving headroom for the downstream ADC's reference. A 20 kHz bandwidth means the sensor tracks magnetic field changes up to that frequency without significant roll-off — fast enough for brushless-DC motor commutation timing or gear-tooth edge detection on a spinning shaft. Maximum supply draw is 3.6 mA, and the analog output can source up to 2.3 mA — enough to drive a 10 kΩ ADC input with margin.

The TO-92-3 through-hole package (short-body variant) is a standard three-lead footprint — the same board layout accepts the wider DRV5053 family. For volume builds, the Tape & Box (TB) packaging option is available alongside Cut Tape.
