Automotive-grade linear Hall sensor for current and position sensing
The DRV5053EAQDBZRQ1 is a single-axis linear Hall-effect sensor from Texas Instruments, qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 0 for automotive applications. Its ±18 mT sensing range and analog voltage output make it suited for contactless current sensing, linear position detection, and rotary angle measurement in engine-bay or chassis-mounted modules. The 20 kHz bandwidth allows the sensor to track magnetic field variations at speeds relevant for motor commutation and fast-acting solenoid feedback loops. The analog output simplifies direct connection to a microcontroller ADC without external signal conditioning.
Temperature compensation is built in, reducing the output drift over the full temperature span compared to uncompensated Hall elements. The maximum supply current is 3.6 mA, and the output can source or sink up to 2.3 mA to drive the ADC input capacitance.
