Active-production omnipolar Hall switch for industrial and consumer sensing
The Texas Instruments DRV5033AJQLPG is an omnipolar magnetic switch that responds to both north and south pole fields of sufficient strength, eliminating the need to track magnet orientation during assembly. It switches at a typical trip point of ±12 mT and releases at ±1 mT, providing a clean hysteresis band that prevents output chatter near the threshold. The open-drain output sinks up to 30 mA, sufficient to drive a logic input or small relay coil directly, with a supply range from 2.7 V upward.
This wide temperature range suits the part for engine-bay proximity detection, industrial valve position sensing, or outdoor equipment where the enclosure sees thermal cycling. The through-hole TO-92 package is straightforward to hand-assemble or wave-solder, and the bulk packaging means no reel minimums for prototype or low-volume builds.
