Magnetic switch with a ±4.8 mT trip threshold
The DRV5032FDDMRR: This is a unipolar Hall-effect switch: it triggers on a magnetic field of either polarity above ±4.8 mT (trip point) and releases when the field drops below ±3 mT. The 1.8 mT hysteresis prevents chatter at the switching threshold — useful in position or proximity sensing where the target magnet moves slowly past the sensor. Output sinks or sources up to 5 mA, enough to drive a logic input or a small LED indicator directly.
Maximum quiescent current is 3.5 µA — the part draws less than the self-discharge of a typical coin cell, so it can be left powered continuously in a battery-operated sensor node. This suits outdoor IoT gateways, HVAC damper position feedback, and white-goods lid/cover detection where ambient heat stays below 85°C.
Housed in a 4-pin X2SON (1.1 mm × 1.4 mm) with an exposed thermal pad — the 4-XFDFN package footprint is compact enough for space-constrained wearable or handheld designs.
