SOT-23-3 footprint and what it connects to
The DRV5032FCDBZT: Three-pin SOT-23-3 (TO-236-3 / SC-59) with a 0.95 mm lead pitch — the same footprint as a small-signal transistor. The supply pin (VCC) and output (OUT) sit on the outer leads; the centre pin is ground. The open-drain output pulls to GND when the field exceeds the trip threshold.
Omnipolar switching — both poles, one output
The DRV5032FCDBZT responds to either a north or south magnetic pole above ±4.8 mT (typical at 25°C). The release point is ±0.5 mT — a 4.3 mT hysteresis that prevents output chatter from a slowly moving magnet or mechanical vibration. Because it detects both poles, the same sensor works with a magnet approaching from either side of the PCB — useful in a hinged cover where the magnet's polarity relative to the sensor is not fixed at assembly.
3.5 µA supply — sizing the battery budget
Max quiescent current is 3.5 µA across the full 1.65-5.5V supply range. In a coin-cell application (e.g. CR2032, ~225 mAh), the sensor alone draws under 31 mAh per year — roughly 14% of the cell capacity before any MCU sleep current. The 1.65V minimum supply means it runs directly from a single Li-ion cell down to its cutoff voltage without a regulator.
