Product details

Omnipolar detection — one sensor, either pole

The DRV5032FBDBZT is a Texas Instruments Hall-effect omnipolar switch in a SOT-23-3 package. It responds to both north and south poles with the same ±4.8 mT operate point and ±0.5 mT release point, so the magnet orientation during assembly is non-critical — a production advantage when the fixture cannot guarantee pole alignment.

1.8 µA supply — battery-life enabler

Maximum supply current is 1.8 µA across the full 1.65 V to 5.5 V range. For a 240 mAh coin cell this translates to over 13 years of continuous operation — the sensor itself is rarely the battery-life limiter in a proximity or lid-closure application. The push-pull output eliminates the external pull-up resistor that a standard open-drain Hall switch requires, saving one component and one PCB trace per channel. Output is rated for 5 mA maximum sink/source.

Industrial temperature grade and supply flexibility

The supply range from 1.65 V (single-cell alkaline end-of-life) to 5.5 V (standard 5 V rail) means a single BOM line serves multiple voltage domains.
