What the ±4.8 mT trip means for a battery-powered sensor node
The DRV5032FBDBZR is an omnipolar Hall switch — it responds to either a north or south pole crossing the ±4.8 mT threshold, releasing at ±0.5 mT. That wide hysteresis (4.3 mT) prevents chatter from mechanical vibration or magnetic noise in a motor housing. The push-pull output eliminates the external pull-up resistor, saving one component per sensor node. At 1.8 µA max supply current, the sensor draws less than the self-discharge rate of a 100 mAh coin cell. A door-closure sensor waking once per second to sample the field runs over a year on a CR2032 — the quiescent current is the dominant term, not the active measurement.
