The DRV5032FADMRT is a Texas Instruments omnipolar Hall effect switch that activates on either a north or south pole exceeding ±4.8 mT and releases at ±0.5 mT. This bipolar response means the magnet orientation in the assembly is non-critical — the switch triggers regardless of which pole faces the sensor, simplifying mechanical design for proximity and lid-closure detection.
3.5 µA supply current enables always-on battery sensing
A CR2032 coin cell driving this sensor alone would last through its shelf life — the Hall bias current dominates, not the switch itself. The 5 mA maximum output current is sufficient to drive a logic input or a low-power LED indicator directly. The integrated sleep mode further reduces average power in duty-cycled applications. Between measurement bursts the sensor enters a low-power idle state, cutting the system-level current draw to near the leakage floor of the supply rail.
4-X2SON package and industrial temperature range
Housed in a 4-XFDFN exposed pad package (1.1 x 1.4 mm body, supplier device package 4-X2SON), the DRV5032FADMRT occupies minimal board area. Surface-mount assembly with standard reflow profiles applies; no special handling beyond MSL precautions. The output is available in open-drain or push-pull configuration, selectable by the device variant — the FADMRT suffix specifies the output type and the factory-programmed threshold.
