Sensing window and supply flexibility
The DRV5032DUDBZR is a unipolar Hall-effect switch with a ±3.9 mT typical operate point and ±3.5 mT release point at 25°C. The 0.4 mT hysteresis prevents chatter at the switching threshold — a magnet moving slowly past the sensor gives one clean edge, not a burst of transitions. Maximum quiescent current is 3.5 µA — low enough that a 200 mAh coin cell powers continuous sensing for over six years before the battery self-discharge becomes the limit. The push-pull output eliminates the external pull-up resistor a typical open-drain Hall switch needs. The output drives up to 5 mA directly into a GPIO or a small LED indicator.
Package and board-fit considerations
Housed in a SOT-23-3 (TO-236-3 / SC-59) surface-mount package. The three-pin footprint is standard and rework-friendly — a hot-air station lifts the part cleanly without lifting pads, and the orientation mark (pin 1 dimple) is clear under magnification. The temperature-compensated design keeps the trip point stable across this band — a feature that matters when the sensor sits near a motor or power supply that raises the local ambient.
