Product details

AEC-Q100 Grade 0 — the temperature envelope

The DRV5023BIQDBZTQ1: A transmission position sensor or brake-pedal travel sensor sitting next to a hot engine block sees 105°C on a summer day; this part still has 20°C of margin before the silicon junction hits its rated ceiling.

24 mT trip / 3 mT release — magnetic budget

The switch trips at 24 mT (typical) and releases at 3 mT (typical) when a south-pole field is applied. The 21 mT hysteresis prevents output chatter from mechanical vibration or magnetic ripple. For a 5 mm air gap, a standard N35 neodymium disc magnet delivers roughly 30 mT at the sensor face — enough to saturate the trip threshold with margin. The release at 3 mT means the output stays low until the magnet is pulled well away, which is useful for end-of-travel detection where the magnet passes the sensor and keeps moving.

2.7 V supply, open-drain output — system integration

Operating from a 2.7 V supply rail, the DRV5023BIQDBZTQ1 draws 2.7 mA switching current and can sink up to 30 mA on the open-drain output. This output type also allows wired-OR connection: multiple sensors on one interrupt line, where any sensor pulling the line low triggers the ECU. The SOT-23-3 package fits a standard 3-pin footprint with 0.95 mm pitch — no special layout beyond a 100 nF decoupling cap near the supply pin.
