24 mT operate, 3 mT release — the BOP/BRP window that decides the air gap
The DRV5023BIQDBZT is a unipolar Hall-effect switch from Texas Instruments that triggers at 24 mT and releases at 3 mT, both measured at the die. That 21 mT hysteresis means the output does not chatter when the magnetic field sits near the threshold — useful in a proximity or end-stop sensor where the magnet approaches and then holds position. It operates from 2.7 V supply and sinks 2.7 mA typical, with an open-drain output rated for 30 mA continuous. The SOT-23-3 package keeps the board footprint small for tight layouts.
Temperature-compensated over the full -40 to 125°C range
A south-pole field above 24 mT pulls the output low; removing the field lets it release at 3 mT. This matters for under-hood or industrial enclosures where the sensor sees wide thermal swings — the switch point does not drift with the magnet's own temperature coefficient.
