What the ±4.5V to 18V supply means on the bench
The DRV134UA runs on a ±4.5V to 18V split supply — that covers the standard pro-audio rails (±15V, ±18V) and the lower ±5V rails found in portable or automotive preamp stages. The wide compliance means you can drop it into an existing ±15V console channel without adding a regulator. Two independent channels, each with differential output, convert a single-ended input into a balanced line signal. That is the core job: driving twisted-pair cable to a mixer, ADC, or downstream processor with common-mode rejection.
Active production — no scavenger hunt
ROHS3 compliant, so it passes the current environmental screening for EU and UK markets. No successor has been issued — this is the current build part. The -55°C to 125°C operating range is wider than the commercial audio gear needs, but it means the part survives the reflow oven profile and the thermal cycling inside a rackmount chassis without parametric drift.
16-SOIC wide-body — what to check on the board
Package is 16-SOIC with 7.50 mm body width (0.295"), not the narrower 3.90 mm SOIC. The tube delivery means the parts arrive oriented; no tape-and-reel handling fee for small builds. Surface-mount only. No through-hole variant exists in this series. If your layout was designed for a DIP-16 audio driver, you will need an adapter board or a layout spin.
