14-bit, 8-channel DAC with R-2R core
The DAC70508MRTET is an eight-channel, 14-bit, voltage-buffered DAC built around an R-2R ladder architecture. It delivers ±0.5 LSB INL and ±0.5 LSB DNL, which means the linearity error stays within half a least-significant bit across all codes — no missing codes guaranteed at 14 bits. For a control loop commanding a 0-10 V actuator through an external amplifier, that translates to a monotonic transfer function and a predictable output step size. The SPI data interface supports daisy-chaining multiple devices on a single bus, useful when you need more than eight analog outputs without multiplying the controller's CS lines. The 5 µs typical settling time lets each channel update at roughly 200 kSPS — fast enough for servo-valve pilot stages or multi-rail power-supply margining, but not for waveform synthesis above audio frequencies.
Supply rails and temperature grade
The -40°C to +125°C operating range covers automotive under-hood and industrial enclosure ambient — the 125°C ceiling is the junction temperature, so the part keeps its ±0.5 LSB linearity even when sitting next to a hot regulator or inside a sealed motor-drive chassis. Reference type is selectable: external or internal. Using the internal reference saves a component and a PCB trace; an external precision reference (e.g., REF50xx) improves the absolute accuracy if the system needs better than the internal reference's temperature drift. The exposed thermal pad on the 16-WQFN (3x3 mm) package should be soldered to the PCB ground plane — the datasheet's thermal impedance figures assume that pad is tied to a copper pour.
It is ROHS3 compliant, which means the package and plating meet the current EU RoHS exemption limits.
