24-SOIC footprint and supply rails
The CY74FCT823ATSOC is a 9-bit D-type flip-flop from Texas Instruments' 74FCT series, packaged in a 24-SOIC (0.295", 7.50mm width) surface-mount body. The 4.75V to 5.25V supply rail places it in the classic 5V logic domain — the propagation delay is specified at 20ns into 300pF load at 5V, which sets the timing budget for a 50 MHz-ish bus.
Drive strength and temperature grade
Output drive is 32mA source / 64mA sink — the asymmetric sink strength handles capacitive loads on the falling edge faster than the rising edge, which matters when the trace fan-out exceeds two or three loads. Quiescent current is 200 µA typical — the 74FCT BiCMOS process keeps standby draw low enough for backplane buffers that stay powered across a rack. Input capacitance is 5 pF per pin, so the upstream driver sees a light load even with multiple FCT inputs on the same node.
