8-bit D-type flip-flop with master reset
The CY74FCT273CTSOC is an 8-bit D-type flip-flop from the 74FCT series, featuring a single positive-edge-triggered clock input and a master reset that clears all outputs asynchronously. Non-inverted outputs deliver 32 mA source / 64 mA sink drive capability, enough to fan out to multiple CMOS or TTL loads on the same backplane.
Supply range and propagation delay
Operates from a 4.75 V to 5.25 V supply, which covers the full 5 V ±5 % rail common in legacy industrial and telecom logic cards. Max propagation delay is 5.8 ns into a 50 pF load — this sets the ceiling for clock-to-Q timing in a synchronous bus; at 50 MHz the output settles well within one clock period, leaving margin for trace delay and receiver setup time. Quiescent current is 200 µA typical, and input capacitance is 5 pF per pin — the low load on the clock driver means a single oscillator can feed multiple flip-flops without a buffer.
Temperature grade and package
Rated for -40°C to +85°C ambient, the industrial temperature band covers most factory-floor and outdoor telecom enclosures. Housed in a 20-SOIC wide-body (7.50 mm width) — the 1.27 mm pitch is layout-friendly on two-layer boards and reworkable with standard hot-air tools.
