Automotive-grade inverting buffer with 3-state output
The Texas Instruments CLVC540AQDWRG4Q1 is an automotive-qualified (AEC-Q100) 8-bit inverting buffer with 3-state outputs from the 74LVC logic family. It is designed for bus-oriented applications where a clean, inverted copy of the data bus is needed, with the 3-state output allowing multiple drivers to share the same line.
The output is rated for 24 mA source and 24 mA sink at both high and low logic levels. In a 3.3 V system, that drive strength can handle a fan-out of ten to fifteen standard LSTTL loads, or drive a heavily loaded backplane trace with controlled impedance. The symmetric drive also means rise and fall times are balanced, which simplifies signal-integrity closure on the bus.
Package and footprint for the board
The device comes in a 20-pin SOIC package with a 7.50 mm body width (0.295"). It is a surface-mount part, so the standard SOIC-20 footprint applies. The wide-body SOIC gives good thermal coupling to the PCB copper plane, which matters when the part is driving a heavily loaded bus at high ambient temperatures.
