Dual 2-bit transparent latch for 5V bus-hold applications
The Texas Instruments CD74HCT75M is a 74HCT-series D-type transparent latch containing two independent 2-bit latch circuits with differential outputs. The 11ns propagation delay and 4mA output drive suit it for buffering address or data buses in industrial control, telecom line cards, and test equipment that must tolerate the full -55°C to 125°C military temperature range.
11ns propagation delay — timing margin for 5V buses
With an 11ns propagation delay, this latch adds minimal skew in a 5V address or data path. At typical bus speeds up to 20-30 MHz, the delay leaves comfortable setup-and-hold margin for the downstream flip-flop or memory. The differential outputs let you drive both true and complement signals without an external inverter, saving board area and one gate delay.
4mA output drive — fan-out and load considerations
The 4mA source and 4mA sink capability is typical for HCT logic. It can drive up to ten standard LSTTL loads or a handful of CMOS inputs. For longer traces or higher capacitive loads, plan a buffer or use the 74FCT573APC which offers 15mA drive — but note that part is through-hole and 0°C to 70°C only, so the CD74HCT75M's surface-mount 16-SOIC and wider temperature range may be the deciding factors for your BOM.
Active lifecycle and RoHS3 compliance
The part ships in a Tube; if you need Tape & Reel for automated assembly, check the CD74HCT75M's reel-suffix variant or plan a tube-to-reel transfer.
