Dual 2-bit latch in a 16-pin DIP — what the specs mean for your board
The CD74HCT75E is a dual 2-bit D-type transparent latch with differential outputs, meaning each of the two independent circuits latches a 2-bit word and provides both Q and Q̅ signals — useful for data bus buffering where complementary outputs save an external inverter. Propagation delay is 11ns, so the latch settles within one 90 MHz clock cycle — fast enough for most 8-bit and 16-bit bus interfaces running at moderate speeds, but not a high-speed part for >100 MHz busses. Output drive is 4mA source and 4mA sink — enough to drive one or two standard TTL loads, but plan on a buffer if you're fanning out to more than a couple of inputs.
