Device identity and logic function
The CD74HCT27E is a triple 3-input NOR gate from the 74HCT series, fabricated in HCMOS technology for TTL-compatible 5V logic systems. It integrates three independent NOR gates, each with three inputs, in a single 14-pin DIP package.
Supply voltage and temperature grade
Quiescent current is a maximum of 2 µA, keeping standby power negligible in battery-backed or always-on systems.
Switching performance and output drive
Maximum propagation delay is 23 ns at 4.5V with a 50 pF load, providing predictable timing margins for 5V synchronous and asynchronous logic. Outputs source and sink 4 mA each, sufficient for driving standard TTL loads or LED indicators through a resistor. Input logic thresholds are 0.8V low and 2V high, directly compatible with 5V TTL output levels without external level translation.
Package and board integration
Housed in a 14-DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) through-hole package with the supplier device code 14-PDIP. The 0.100-inch pin pitch and 0.300-inch row spacing match standard breadboard and perfboard layouts, making it suitable for prototyping, legacy rework, or low-volume production where hand-soldering is preferred.
