10-line to 4-line priority encoder in a through-hole DIP
The Texas Instruments CD74HCT147E is a 10-line to 4-line priority encoder from the 74HCT logic family. It accepts nine active-low inputs and encodes the highest-priority active input into a 4-line BCD output.
Military temperature range — what it means for the BOM
Rated for -55°C to 125°C, this encoder is specified for avionics, satellite, downhole instrumentation, and other high-reliability environments where commercial or industrial temperature parts would drift out of spec. The 4 mA output current at both high and low levels is modest — plan on buffering if driving long traces or multiple CMOS loads.
Sourcing and lifecycle
It is ROHS3 compliant.
