Quad 3-state buffer for 5V logic busses
The Texas Instruments CD74HCT126E packs four independent non-inverting buffers with 3-state outputs into a single 14-pin DIP. Each buffer drives up to 6 mA source or sink at 5V supply, enough for a few CMOS or TTL loads on a backplane or control bus. The 3-state enable per element lets you gate each channel individually — useful for shared data lines where one buffer at a time drives the bus.
Temperature range and deployment
Rated from -55°C to 125°C, the CD74HCT126E covers military and industrial extremes. It fits in avionics black boxes, satellite telemetry interfaces, downhole instrumentation, and outdoor telecom gear where the ambient can swing hard. The through-hole 14-DIP package (0.300" body) is a standard footprint for prototyping, breadboard verification, and legacy board repair — no fine-pitch soldering required.
