Field-swappable AND gate for the kit
The CD74HC11E is a 74HC-series triple 3-input AND gate in a 14-pin DIP — the kind of part that lives in a field-service kit because it is socket-friendly and the orientation is dead obvious from the notch. It runs on 2 V to 6 V supply, draws only 2 µA quiescent, and handles -55°C to 125°C, so it fits industrial control boards that see temperature swings.
What the ratings mean for a swap
The 17 ns propagation delay at 6 V with a 50 pF load is typical for 74HC logic — fast enough for most slow-to-moderate-speed glue logic, but not for high-frequency clock gating. Output drive is 5.2 mA source and sink, which is enough to light an LED or drive one CMOS input but not a relay coil directly.
