Octal buffer for bus isolation and line driving
The Texas Instruments CD74ACT541E is an octal (8-bit) non-inverting buffer with 3-state outputs from the 74ACT family. It provides 24 mA source and sink current per channel, enough to drive a standard TTL load or a short backplane trace. The 3-state outputs let you isolate the bus when the output-enable line is deasserted, which is the standard interface for shared data buses in microprocessor or memory systems.
