Dual 4-input AND gate in the 4000B family
The CD4082BE is a dual 4-input AND gate from Texas Instruments' 4000B series, packaged in a 14-DIP through-hole format. It contains two independent AND gates, each with four inputs, and operates across a 3V to 18V supply range. The wide supply span makes it a natural fit for battery-powered instruments, industrial control panels, and any board where a single CMOS logic family must bridge multiple voltage domains without a level shifter.
Temperature grade and quiescent draw
Rated for -55°C to 125°C, the CD4082BE covers the full military temperature envelope — useful for outdoor telecom cabinets, engine-bay electronics, or downhole sensor interfaces where commercial-grade parts would drift out of spec. Quiescent current is 1 µA maximum, so the gate adds negligible standby drain in a battery-powered system. The output can source or sink 3.4 mA, enough to drive a standard CMOS load or a low-current LED indicator directly.
Active production — no end-of-life watch needed
There is no announced last-time-buy window or successor part — the 4000B series remains a catalog staple for low-speed, wide-voltage logic. The through-hole 14-DIP package (0.300-inch row spacing) is a standard breadboard-friendly footprint.
