Quad 2-input XNOR from the 4000B family
The CD4077BM96 is a Texas Instruments 4000B-series CMOS logic gate — four independent 2-input XNOR (Exclusive NOR) circuits in a 14-SOIC package. Quiescent current maxes at 1 µA, so it suits battery-powered or always-on monitoring logic where every microamp counts. Propagation delay is 100 ns at 15V into a 50 pF load — fast enough for slow-speed control handshakes, not for high-frequency clock trees.
The 3V to 18V supply range means this gate can run directly off an unregulated battery or a 12V rail without a local regulator. That simplifies the power tree in automotive body controllers or industrial sensor interfaces. Input logic levels track the supply: low at 1.5V to 4V, high at 3.5V to 11V, so it interfaces cleanly with 5V and 12V logic families without level shifters.
For a BOM freeze, this part does not carry an obsolescence watch today.
