Product details

2 × 4-input OR gate in 14-SOIC

The CD4072BM is a dual 4-input OR gate from TI's 4000B CMOS logic family, packaged in a 14-SOIC (0.154" width, 3.90 mm) surface-mount body. Each of the two independent gates sums four logic inputs to a single output — useful for combining multiple sensor or control signals into one interrupt or enable line on a mixed-voltage board.

3 V to 18 V supply, military temp range

At 15 V and 50 pF load, propagation delay is 90 ns max, setting the data-rate ceiling for the signal path. Quiescent current is 1 µA max — negligible in battery-backed or always-on subsystems. Output drive is 3.4 mA source and sink at rated supply — sufficient for driving a single CMOS load or a low-speed optocoupler LED, but not for heavy fan-out or long traces without a buffer.

Active lifecycle, ROHS3, no cross-reference needed

ROHS3 compliant.

Frequently asked questions

Will CD4072BM drop into a board originally specified for CD4025BM96?

No — the CD4025BM96 is a triple 3-input NOR gate (different logic function) and is offered in tape/reel packaging. The CD4072BM is a dual 4-input OR gate in tube packaging. They are not pin-compatible or functional substitutes without a board spin.
