Product details

Quad 2-input XOR in the 4000B family

The CD4070BPWR is a quad 2-input XOR (exclusive OR) gate from Texas Instruments' 4000B series, a mature CMOS logic family known for its wide supply tolerance and broad temperature range. It integrates four independent XOR gates on a single die, each with two inputs, in a 14-TSSOP surface-mount package.

The 3V to 18V supply range means this gate can operate from a single lithium cell up to a 12V or 15V rail without a separate regulator — useful in mixed-voltage industrial and automotive boards where the logic supply is not fixed at 5V or 3.3V. An engine-bay ECU or a downhole sensor running at 105°C ambient still has margin before the die hits the upper limit.

Static and dynamic performance

Quiescent current is 1 µA maximum — the gate draws nearly nothing when the inputs are static, so it fits battery-powered or energy-harvesting designs where the logic sits idle most of the time. Output drive is 3.4 mA for both high and low states, typical for the 4000B family. This drives a single CMOS load or a low-power LED directly, but for heavier fan-out a buffer stage is needed. Propagation delay is 100 ns maximum at 15V supply with a 50 pF load. At lower supply voltages the delay increases — at 5V expect roughly 250 ns, so the usable toggle rate drops to a few MHz.

Package and board integration

Available in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) options, the part is ready for pick-and-place assembly in volume or prototype quantities.
