Package and board integration
The CD4023BM96 is supplied in a 14-SOIC (0.154", 3.90 mm width) surface-mount package, which places the three NAND gates on a compact footprint suited for dense PCB layouts. The 1.27 mm lead pitch of the SOIC-14 allows two-layer routing without via congestion, keeping the board cost low for a glue-logic function.
Supply voltage and temperature range
Operating from 3 V to 18 V, this 4000B-series gate covers the full CMOS logic supply range, including 5 V, 12 V, and 15 V rails common in industrial and automotive designs. The -55°C to +125°C temperature grade qualifies it for environments where commercial parts fail — engine bays, outdoor telecom cabinets, and downhole instrumentation see the full span.
Quiescent current and speed
Maximum quiescent current is 1 µA across the supply range, which means the gate adds negligible static power draw in battery-powered or energy-harvesting circuits. Propagation delay is 90 ns typical at 15 V with a 50 pF load — this sets the upper data rate at roughly 5 MHz for a single gate, adequate for slow control signals, debounce logic, and level translation.
