Dual 4-input NOR gate in the 4000B family
The CD4002BNSR: This is a dual 2-channel NOR gate with 4 inputs per gate, fabricated in the 4000B CMOS logic series. Quiescent current maxes at 1 µA across the full temperature range, so it's suitable for always-on or wake-up logic where every microamp counts.
That covers engine-bay electronics, outdoor telecom enclosures in direct sun, and any board that sits near a hot power stage. The 4000B series is known for wide noise margin at elevated temperatures compared to the 74HC family, which is typically rated only to 85°C.
The wider body gives more clearance between adjacent pins than the narrow SOIC-14, which can help with solder-bridge inspection under a microscope. Available in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) options for both production reels and prototype quantities.
Speed and timing
Maximum propagation delay is 90 ns at 15V supply with a 50 pF load. That's the worst-case figure across temperature and process — typical parts will be faster, but for timing closure you budget the 90 ns. At lower supply voltages the delay increases; at 5V the typical propagation delay is roughly double the 15V figure, so don't expect 74HC-class speed from this part.
Compliance and documentation
ROHS3 Compliant per — no RoHS exemption issues for EU or global shipping. Texas Instruments provides the full datasheet, application notes, and PCN history through their standard documentation portal.
