Battery protection for multi-cell Li-Ion packs
The BQ771604DPJR is a secondary over-voltage protection IC designed for 2-4 series Li-Ion battery cells. It monitors each cell voltage independently and triggers a fault output when any cell exceeds the over-voltage threshold, acting as a safety backup to the primary fuel-gauge or charger IC.
Housed in an 8-WDFN exposed pad package (supplier device package 8-WSON 3x4 mm), the part is surface-mount and requires a thermal pad on the PCB for heat dissipation.
