Battery pack gauge and protection in one IC
The BQ4050RSMR is a multi-function controller for 1-4 series Li-Ion or Li-Polymer battery packs, integrating fuel gauging, cell balancing, and protection into a single 32-VFQFN package. It communicates over SMBus, so the host system reads state-of-charge, voltage, and temperature data without additional analog front-end circuitry.
Protection coverage and temperature range
Fault protection includes overcurrent, overtemperature, over/under voltage, and short circuit — covering the main failure modes a multi-cell pack sees in charge/discharge cycles.
ROHS3 compliant, with no restricted substances above the threshold limits per EU directive 2015/863.
