Single-cell Li-Ion protection with three fault triggers
The BQ29733DSER is a single-cell battery protection IC from Texas Instruments, designed for Lithium Ion and Lithium Polymer packs. It monitors the cell for over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, and short-circuit conditions, pulling the discharge FET gate low to isolate the load when any threshold is exceeded. Operating from -40°C to 85°C, it fits portable consumer gear, power tools, and medical devices that see ambient extremes but not under-hood automotive heat. The 6-WSON (1.5x1.5) package keeps the footprint small enough for a battery protection PCB that fits inside the pack wrapper.
