What the fuel gauge does for a single-cell pack
The BQ27741YZFR-G1 is a multi-function controller (fuel gauge) for single-cell Lithium Ion batteries. It monitors charge and discharge through an integrated coulomb counter and reports state-of-charge, voltage, current, and temperature over an HDQ or I²C serial bus. On-chip fault protection covers overcurrent, overtemperature, over/under voltage, and short-circuit conditions — the gauge can trigger a protection FET or alert the host without an external supervisor IC.
