Single-cell Li-ion fuel gauge with Impedance Track™
The BQ27500DRZT is a Texas Instruments battery monitor from the Impedance Track™ series, designed for single-cell Lithium-Ion packs. It communicates over an I²C bus, making it a drop-in fit for portable devices where the host MCU already has an I²C peripheral. The Impedance Track™ algorithm continuously learns the battery's impedance over temperature and state-of-charge, which gives a more accurate remaining-capacity estimate than a simple voltage-based coulomb counter. This matters for BOM confidence in devices where the user expects a reliable runtime prediction — handheld instruments, medical monitors, or IoT sensors.
Package and temperature envelope
Housed in a 12-VFDFN Exposed Pad package, with a 12-SON (2.5x4) supplier device package. This covers industrial and outdoor portable gear, but not automotive under-hood applications. For a 125°C-rated alternative, the BQ79612PAPRQ1 (AEC-Q100, SPI/UART) is a functional peer, though its interface and qualification grade differ.
Sourcing is straightforward through authorized distribution; the base product number BQ27500 is the family root for cross-referencing datasheets and application notes.
