What this fuel gauge does — and why the Impedance Track™ matters
Unlike a simple voltage-based gauge, Impedance Track™ learns the battery's impedance over temperature and discharge rate, so the reported capacity stays accurate as the cell ages. It communicates over an I²C interface, making it a straightforward addition to a portable-device BOM — no SMBus or SPI host required. The part is specified for one Li-Ion cell only, so a 2S or 4S pack needs a different gauge in the family.
The BQ27441DRZT-G1B comes in a 12-VFDFN with an exposed pad (the supplier device package is 12-SON, 2.5x4 mm). This temperature grade covers most portable, handheld, and industrial equipment, but it does not extend to automotive under-hood or engine-bay environments.
