Single-cell Li-ion fuel gauge with Impedance Track
The Texas Instruments BQ27410DRZR-G1 is a battery monitor from the Impedance Track™ series, purpose-built for single-cell Lithium Cobalt Oxide packs. It reports remaining capacity, state-of-charge, and voltage over an I²C interface, with the gauge algorithm pre-programmed for LiCoO2 chemistry — no additional firmware development is needed to get basic fuel-gauge data out of it.
What the 1-cell and chemistry spec mean for your BOM
This part is locked to a single series cell and Lithium Cobalt Oxide chemistry. If your design uses a two-cell stack or a different cathode chemistry, the internal algorithm will report incorrect state-of-charge. The exposed-pad package requires a thermal-land pattern on the PCB — the pad is the primary heat path out of the gauge during high-current discharge pulses.
For a battery monitor that is often paired with a specific cell model over a product's multi-year life, active status means you are not forced into a requalification cycle mid-run.
Package and footprint notes for layout
The 12-VFDFN package with exposed pad measures 2.5 mm x 4 mm in the 12-SON supplier package. The I²C interface runs on standard 3.3 V logic levels — no level shifters needed if the host MCU uses the same rail.
