Product details

What the bqJUNIOR monitor does — single-cell Li-Ion/Polymer fuel gauging

The BQ27010DRKR is a battery monitor IC from the bqJUNIOR™ series, purpose-built for single-cell Lithium Ion or Lithium Polymer packs. Its job is to report state-of-charge and voltage data over a single-wire HDQ interface to a host microcontroller — no separate ADC or coulomb-counter IC needed on the board. The HDQ bus keeps the BOM to two wires (data and ground), which matters when the pack connector has limited pins.

Package and board-fit: 10-VSON with exposed pad

Reflow profile follows the standard JEDEC MSL level for this package family; no special bake required if the seal is intact.

This is the commercial/industrial band — fine for handheld instruments, portable medical gear, and consumer electronics that stay indoors or in a conditioned enclosure. Not specified for the -40°C automotive or extended industrial range; if the end product sees cold soak below -20°C, the monitor's accuracy and communication timing are outside the datasheet guarantee.

Frequently asked questions

What battery chemistry and cell count does the BQ27010DRKR support?

It supports single-cell Lithium Ion and Lithium Polymer chemistries. The monitor is optimized for the voltage curve and discharge characteristics of these chemistries.
