Single-cell 5A charger with I²C control
The Texas Instruments BQ25895RTWT is a MaxCharge™ series single-cell Li-Ion/Polymer battery charger IC delivering up to 5A charge current from a supply rail rated to 14V. The I²C interface lets firmware program the charge voltage, current limit, termination threshold, and timer — no external resistor dividers for set-points. USB input detection and power-path management are built in, so the system load runs from the adapter or battery without a separate load switch.
14V input and industrial temperature range
The 14V maximum supply voltage covers USB-C PD at 9V, standard 5V USB, and 12V wall adapters without an external buck pre-regulator. Over-temperature fault protection is integrated — the die-level thermal regulation reduces charge current when the junction exceeds the threshold, so the board does not need a separate NTC monitoring circuit for the charger IC itself.
