Device identity and functional role
The BQ25713RSNR is a multi-chemistry battery monitor from Texas Instruments, designed to supervise 1 to 4 series cells via an I2C interface.
Protection and monitoring coverage
Integrated fault protection covers over-current, over-temperature, and over-voltage conditions — the monitor can flag or act on each threshold without relying solely on the host controller. The I2C interface allows the system MCU to read cell voltages, temperature, and fault status, and to configure protection thresholds on the fly. Because it supports multi-chemistry (Li-ion, LiFePO4, lead-acid, etc.), the same BOM position can serve different battery packs by changing the I2C configuration registers — no hardware spin required.
