2A programmable charge current with I²C control
The BQ25629RYKR is a single-cell Li-ion/polymer charger from Texas Instruments with a programmable charge current up to 2A. The I²C interface lets the host adjust current, timer, and voltage dynamically — useful for implementing fast-charge profiles or thermal-throttling algorithms without hardware changes.
18V input, 4.8V battery ceiling, industrial temp range
The charger accepts a maximum supply voltage of 18V, covering USB-C PD adapters and 5V/9V/12V wall warts. The battery pack voltage tops out at 4.8V — that's the termination ceiling for a single Li-ion cell, not a multi-cell stack.
Built-in fault protections reduce external BOM
On-chip fault protection covers over-current, over-temperature, over-under voltage, and short-circuit conditions. That means fewer external sense resistors, comparators, or supervisory ICs on the board — a clean single-chip charge path.
Active production, 18-WQFN package, tape-and-reel
It ships in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) in an 18-PowerWFQFN package with a supplier device package of 18-WQFN-HR measuring 3x2.5 mm.
