3 A charge current and what it buys you
The programmable charge current tops out at 3 A, which recharges a typical 1000 mAh 1-cell Li-ion pack in under 30 minutes. For a 2 Ah cell, that same 3 A ceiling still delivers a 0.5 C charge rate — fast enough for most portable equipment without stressing the cell.
Built-in fault protection cuts external parts
Overcurrent, overvoltage, and overtemperature protection are integrated — no separate supervisor or fuse needed. That saves about 20 mm² of board area versus a discrete protection chain, and it eliminates one failure point that a repair bench would otherwise have to trace.
Dual-chemistry flexibility on one BOM line
The charger handles both Li-ion/Li-polymer (4.2 V full-charge) and LiFePO4 cells — the battery pack voltage is set by the external resistor divider. A single BQ25300RTER can serve a product line that ships with either chemistry, reducing inventory complexity.
Package and footprint: 16-WFQFN (3x3 mm)
The 16-WFQFN with exposed pad (3x3 mm body) is a compact surface-mount package.
